Gordano School Year 7 Students Launch ‘Sponsor a Stone’ Initiative to Help Create Hogwarts – Style Space
Year 7 students at Gordano have launched a project to give their Elliot Hall a makeover, which acts as a haven for them while adjusting to life here at Gordano School.
They have reimagined it in the style of the Great Hall at Hogwarts including house banners, stone effect walls, a comfy reading area, sofas, outdoor flowers and a creative corner to help them achieve a more comfortable and inspiring space.
Existing parents have been invited to ‘sponsor a stone’ via ParentPay to help raise funds and students are also hoping to receive support from the wider community such as local businesses who may wish to provide sponsorship.
Those wishing to donate can email mailbox@gordanoschool.org.uk
Any shortfall will be raised by the Year 7 students through a variety of fundraising efforts.
Richard Earle, teacher at Gordano said: ‘I am so proud of their commitment, and we thank anyone who contributes. Their support and generosity will help to create an incredible space for Year 7 students, both current and future. This project will be a legacy for years to come.’
Louise Blundell, Headteacher commented: ‘Our mission is to empower students to be positively engaged and nurture essential life skills such as teamwork and responsibility. Student Leadership is a huge part of life here at Gordano and I am thrilled that our youngest cohort have demonstrated such ambition and drive to make their vision come to life.’
