Students at Gordano School are participating in Connections, the National Theatre’s annual youth theatre festival

Students at Gordano School are once again participating in Connections, the National Theatre’s annual youth theatre festival. This year, the cast is performing No Regrets, a play by Gary McNair, which is the culmination of five years of conversations with people from all walks of life about the theme of regret.
The 27-member cast has been rehearsing since October in preparation for their performance at the Bristol Old Vic on 4th April.
Belle Day, Drama Teacher, expressed her pride in the students’ dedication, saying, “I am so impressed with the dedication and hard work the students have shown in preparing for the production; it is truly taking shape, and I am extremely excited for the upcoming performance.”
The play has brought together a diverse group of students from across five different year groups, creating a unique opportunity for them to connect with peers they might never have met otherwise. Through this shared experience, the cast has formed a special bond. Each rehearsal, filled with laughter and camaraderie, has allowed them to build lasting friendships that go beyond age and year group, making this production truly memorable.
Year 12 student Immie said “Miss Day asked me to support her with the production of this play and I was so thrilled to be trusted with such responsibility. We work really hard to perfect the performance but we also have so much fun together. I have loved getting to know all the students in the cast and can honestly say that I have made new friends with them all. I hope to work with them again on future drama and other creative arts events”.
