Gordano School family donates a collection of instruments, some of which shared a stage with The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Jimi Hendrix!

A collection of instruments has been donated to our Music Department including a beautiful electric piano (pictured), synthesisers, guitars, and a flute. Thank you to the Fudge family for their generosity.
The instruments came from 'Digger', the grandfather of one of our students who was a community-spirited musician with a passion for performing, and who taught less fortunate students to play for much of his life.
'Digger' was classically trained, just like his father and grandfather before him. His band played as a support for Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, and The Beatles and some of the older instruments have definitely been on the same stage as those legends!
One of the keyboards was used at the Open Mic Gordano (OMG!) event at Clarence House and many of the instruments have already been used in lessons.
Head of Music, Dr Humphries said: "It is wonderful that Digger's instruments will now be used to inspire a new generation of musicians. We have been so fortunate to receive donations of musical instruments from so many students and families this year, all of which get put to use in our classrooms, performances, and events. Thank you all for your generosity".
