A-Level and Vocational Results 2024

Gordano School - A Level Press Release 2024

Year 13 students at Gordano have received their A Level and Vocational subject results today, Thursday 15th August.

Headteacher Louise Blundell comments, “We are absolutely delighted to be able to celebrate these results with our wonderful Year 13 students. As a year group they have shown great effort, determination and resilience throughout their educational journey, and we are very proud of their successes, both in their examinations but also in their personal growth and the huge contributions they have made to our school community and beyond. As a year group they will be very much missed at Gordano School, but we wish every one of our students the very best in their next chapter.”

We have seen some stunning achievements across the year group and are thrilled to see students succeed so well across the range of abilities and in such a diverse range of subjects and qualifications.

Top academic achievers in this year group included Lily H, Evie-Grace C and Finley C who achieved all A* grades in their subjects. Other students who exceeded their target grades included Harrison C, Caitlin F and Anna F. Finley C is off to Cambridge University to study mathematics and will be joined at Cambridge by Anais P who achieved 3 As and an A* and will be studying archaeology.

Students studying vocational courses also achieved excellent results. We were delighted to celebrate with students such as Naomi H, Chloe H, Dan C, Olivia H and Aldo H. Huge congratulations to all our students on these courses.

Many of our students have also secured highly sought after places on Higher Apprenticeship courses including Caitlin F, Oliver H and Josh F!

The overwhelming majority of students who applied to university have now had their places confirmed – the majority of which are at their first-choice universities.  Joint Director of Sixth Form, Tom Heysham, comments, “We are delighted that so many of our students have already secured their places at university or in other training or employment – for which applications are hugely competitive.  Now that they have their exam results, for any student who has still to decide on their next pathway, we will continue to assist them to make informed next steps.”
